Frequently Asked Question
How to install zip archive content on a Windows PC
Do not allow your web browser (Chrome, Edge) to automatically expand the ZIP files. You need the downloaded zips to remain as zips.
Poser has a built in system to extract and install ZIP archive content.
- Download the ZIP file of content to someplace easy to find (Desktop or Downloads)
- After the file is downloaded as a ZIP open Poser.
- On Poser's file menu choose "Install from ZIP archive ...".
- This opens a file chooser window. Choose the zip file you just downloaded.
- Choose an existing runtime folder to store the new item, The "Downloads" folder is recommended.
- After adding content you will need to refresh the library or restart Poser to see the new content.
Note: The "Downloads" runtime is not the same folder as your web browser's "Downloads" folder.
If you are installing a purchased product this doesn't affect the item as listed in the "Purchase" tab of the library. It will still be available for automatic installation in the Purchase library.
When you start collecting poser content you will likely start just saving the ZIP files in your Downloads folder. That's OK but eventually you will likely have hundreds or even thousands of downloaded items. It's highly recommended that you make a folder dedicated to storing your content collection.
